Milind Soman works on his tan amidst controversy surrounding “obscene” photo – Times of India

Milind Soman was back in the headlines this morning after a case was registered against him, for his social media post where he was seen sprinting naked at a beach in Goa.

The South Goa district police on Thursday booked Soman for promoting obscenity, days after his photograph went viral. The star was booked under IPC Section 294 (Obscene acts and songs) and 67 (Punishment for publishing/transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act.

However, the star seemed to be making the most of all the heat he has been receiving by working on his tan on the sunny and sandy shores. Taking to Instagram, wife Ankita Konwar shared a picture of a shirtless Milind and herself soaking up some vitamin D while lounging and sweating it out on a beach chair.

“Always, brown and proud. My dose of vitamin D,” Ankita captioned the photo.

As far as the controversy surrounding the picture is concerned, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police South Goa said in a report to ANI, “An organisation called Goa Suraksha Manch had given a complaint against Soman for running nude on a beach in South Goa and then circulating those pictures on social media.”

On November 4, Soman shared the risqué photo on the occasion of his 55th birthday with the caption, “Happy birthday to me Y…55 and running ! Y”.

Ankita, who clicked the photo, said in an interview to Bombay Times, “Milind did an impromptu run; it’s always impromptu,” she said.

Explaining the inspiration behind the photo, she said, “I think the run just sends out a very positive message on body positivity and being free and happy with who you are. I adore him for always being so at peace with who he is. I think anyone who accepts themselves for who they are has this incredible light and energy around them, and people start liking their presence. Milind’s always been like that. Always himself.”
