Thanking the fan for sharing the lovely picture, Shahid seemed to relive cherished memories of the movie. ‘Kabir Singh’ released in June 2019 and earned Rs 276 crore at the box office.

‘Kabir Singh’ was a remake of hit Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ and Shahid is all set to feature in yet another remake. He signed up to play the lead in ‘Jersey’, which is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also called the shots for the original Telugu film by the same name. Shahid essays the role of a retired cricketer in the film and had shot for it extensively before the lockdown was imposed. The team began shooting post the lockdown and the Uttarakhand schedule of ‘Jersey’ was recently concluded.

Apart from ‘Jersey’, Shahid Kapoor will also be seen essaying former boxing champ and Asian Games gold medallist Dingko Singh. Speaking about the film, Shahid had previously told BT, “The thing that I loved about this story is that he is one of those superstars who we don’t know much about. Dingko is a cancer survivor, and he went through 13 rounds of chemotherapy. He has even gone on to say that his biggest win was surviving cancer and not the gold medal he won at the age of 19 at the Asian Games in Bangkok (1998). He is a sports star who survived cancer, and at some point in his past, he had almost become a Naxalite. His life story is unbelievably crazy; it is very human and extremely inspiring. Such amazing stories of heroes need to be told.”
